my hopeful side

As a kid I never fit in that well, I wasn't a complete loner but I definitely wished I could have been sitting at that cool kids lunch table. So every year at the beginning of the school year I would always try and dress like them. When I look at these shoes it reminds me of the style of shoe I would lace up on that first day of school. Every year I was so hopeful this was the year. Looking back now as an adult I've come to realize it's not the shoes it's what goes inside them! Now whenever I look at a pair of air Jordans or dunks or any skate shoe with a similar style. I think about that super hopeful teen on the first day of school walking up to the bus stop who was always Telling himself, this is my year.
